This Is Driving Me Crazy I Dropped The Tranny But Now I Cant Start My Motor. Where On Gods Green Earth Is The Clutch Safety Switch That Allows You To Start It Without The Clutch In??? People Say Its On The Clutch Pedal Mechanism Itself But I Have Looked For Hours Literally And Can't Find It. There Is Even An Indention On My Forehead From One Of The Pedals Ive Been Looking For So Long. Its A 1999 Camaro Where In The World Is This Safety Switch Or How Can I By Pass It To Get The Motor Started.....now That I Got Everything Off I Need To Listen To Just The Motor Itself To Rule Out Clutch/transmission Noise. Please If Anyone Knows It Would Be Greatly Appreciated Sitting For 2 Weeks Now Because I Cant Start It!!!!!!

Re: Clutch Safety Switch
Wow, You Capitolize Every Word
Anyhow, follow the clutch pedal from the pad, up behind the dashboard. Push the pedal in as you're under there and you'll see a black switch that it pushes against. That's your safety switch.
It should look like THIS.
Mine broke about two years after I bought it, and I just bypassed it with a piece of copper. Just have to be careful when starting though. If the gears are engaged...well, y'know.Last edited by hockeyman; 11-27-2006, 10:24 AM.sigpic
