Dexron Mercon III is the stock fluid used in the 93+ auto *and* manual transmissions.sigpic

just a tip so you dont end up a little over full or under later. add the 4 quarts start it go through the gears reverse all the way down to 1st and up through them slowly, reason being that some trans apply a band or clutches when put in 1st(for a stronger hold) in addition to what is held for first gear in drive or over drive do that just to get every thing full so your not under after your first drive. then let it run for a few minutes to get trans temp up because the fluid expands when its hot then top it off this way you dont over fill it
