    Re: transmission mount breaking

I never remember it being expensive to buy a tranny mount, only like 18 dollars or so. But, I did solve the problem finally by going to a GM dealership and getting one from there and I have never broken it since.

Also, if you use the search feature and type in "Transmission Mount" you will see tons of other posts about the same problem and ways they have fixed it and prevented it from happening again.

Go to your auto parts store and by the 30 dollar SOLID mount.

Mine and a buddies both ripped the rubber on the mounts.
The stock hydralic rubber is weak but the solid rubber mounts hold amazingly well.
Aftermarket mount should also come with a safety plate on it that hooks around a small rubber coverd piece that sticks out (it's basicly a safety hook). This safety hook shall keep your trany from hitting the floor IF some how you rip the solid rubber mount.

Installation is three bolts out, mount out, mount in, three bolts in, done.
It's a driveway job. I was able to do mine in 20 minutes.

the only thing that you have to do is modify your crossmember after removing it, which is easy.
