Transmission Fluid

I just bought 5 quarts of castrol "Dexron III - Mercon" after work tonight. I believe this is the correct fluid for my T-5. When installing through the shifter hole, how much fluid do I add? I think I read 4 quarts but I remember seeing 4.5 also. Thanks and sorry if this has been covered a hundred times.

Get the car on a level surface, remove the "fill plug" from the trandmission housing, and fill with fluid until it begins to trickle out. Then re-plug and drive away.

T-5's call for 3 quarts. ALWAYS buy extra though...

No. Get under the car, look at the passenger side of the trans, and you'll see a plug that has a square cutout in the center of it that a 3/8" ratchet fits perfectly into. That's your fill plug.

Too tired and drunk to go out and take a pic of it right now. Maybe tomorrow.

Actually 6.8 pints or approx 3.5 quarts.
