Ive got the transmission almost ready to pull out...I think. We've got all the bolts out...it's pulled away from the engine about 1.5". Ive read that I need to remove the dust shield in order to get the 3 bolts out of the torque converter/fly wheel...but I dont see how the dust shield is removed? What am I missing...this should be the easy part
I just pulled mine last week. I believe there were 2 small screws and the 2 tranny bolt/brackets. The bracket on the passenage side was a bit of a *****.
so do I need to remove those brackets in order to remove the dust shield or not?
I think I know what the 2 small screws are that you're talking about....would those be the ones in the bell housing? It looks to me like the dust shield isnt going anywhere without removing the bottom two studs...or are those bolts that just look like studs to me?
I got the TC unbolted through the starter hole...the sheild wont come off because of the studs.
