yeah they are, ill be doing my swap in just over a week, just waiting for some smaller parts to come in.
and the vss is not the same. The connectors are the same but the actual sensor is different
The sensors are the same I went from a 96' m5 to a 01 m5 used my 96' sensor. Then from the 01 m5 to 02 A4 used the same vss sensor from the 96' tranny. I still can't believe the sensor has held up this long 155,000 miles. But the sensor will swap over though.

Yes,the vss are the same I used my vss out of my m5 for my a4 swap, the covers are also different, if you have your auto cover , I'll trade you for my manual cover.
hey Meatty if i read this correctly you converted your car from a t-5 to an a-4???????
I switched my auto for a manual a few days after I bought the car. (I got such a good deal on the car, I couldnt pass it up, even iff it was an auto).
It wasnt that hard. 2 days up on jackstads in the garage. I went to the junkyard and grabbed everything I needed out of a '97 camaro and rewired it all my self.
Its not that hard. The worst part was mounting the master cylinder. Its totally worth it if you want a manual tranny. I did the swap because I prefer driving stick over auto.
If you need any helpl let me know and I'll help you out.
Hey could I get some pics of this if you took any and maybe a parts list?
