what spline do we have

wondering what spline we have. sorry if the spelling is off. 26, 28, or 30. i have a 01 a4 3.42 gears with no lsd stock.. if that helps any. also does it matter if we get diff than what we have stock?

26 input and 27 output i believe....i think thats what the t-5 trannies r...not sure if the autos r the same

28 axle splines

Early 3rd gen had 26

Yes you have to match your differential spline count to the axles.
