hey guys i was just wondering since u guys are the v6 experts if the v6's have a posi rear because ever since i bought my car ive notice only one tire spins out..I brought it to the shop and they said the rear is fine.. the car just doesnt have posi rear and to make the car posi it would cost alot.

what they told you was part true and part false. Yes, not all V6's came with posi-traction...as a matter of fact, reletively few did. However, it doesn't cost alot to install a posi...300 for labor, and however much you decide to pay for a posi

or just buy a whole rear end which already has 3.42 gears and posi installed, you just bolt it on yourself

I would reconmend ripping a rear end off a parting out z28 or TA or something. Pretty sure they are all 3.42 with LS. I got mine from a wrecked z fairly inexpensive.

before you buy all the stuff for posi check your build codes on the inside driver door you will be shocked to find out whats there. the code for posi is G80 and GU6 thats for 3.42 gears which TheGr8Schlotzky informed me.
just double check before u spend the bucks

there isn't one; no F-body left the factory with 3.73 ratio gears

Actually its a little more than that. You should give the average price not the rock bottom price. A rearend swap is 5 hours and most shops start at 80$ an hour these days. So that 400 labor. The gear is about right but that LSD is gonna run you atleast 275 and the cheapst i have ever seen an install kit was $70. Thats all new prices. I dont know used prices only cheapscates and breaders put used mechanical parts in their car.
