ticking from tranny in reverse?

on cold starts, my tranny makes ticking noises no matter what gear im in. but without fail, whether its cold or warm, my tranny makes a ticking noise when im in reverse that goes faster the faster the car moves and vice versa. i dont know 100% that its coming from the tranny, but thats where it sounds like its coming from.. anyone...?

check the flex plate mine did the same thing and then the damn thing broke on me leaving me stranded

auto trannys have flex plates

manual have fly wheels


If you could get us a sound clip or video, would help better determine. I'll try to look around for a video with a bad flex. It's more of a rattling noise, but i guess it depends on how bad it is

I also remember that you just installed a higher stall? Just because it is a possibility, check and make sure that the bolts didn't back out at all. One could just be a little loose and that's why you get a slight ticking...If it is tranny related at all.

yea there is no rattling. and ill have to check those bolts from the 3500 stall install. my shop seems to think it might be an exhaust leak but i dont think it is.. anyways, ill keep ya updated. lemme know if you get that vid

nope thats definately not it. its not that bad. i think i might just some crap too close to my DS that is flapping around on it.
