if i remove the inspection cover (not the pan, but the cover in front of it beneath the flexplate) should I have to replace the transmission fluid on my automatic transmission, or is there no fluid in there?

Re: Transmission converter cover
i need to check the flexplate. i have been chasing a noise forever and i have reason to believe it may be a cracked flexplate. i was hoping i could check it from there without having to remove the entire transmission.
now, I curious because as i was taking out the two lowest bolts on that plate, what looked like oil started to leak out the bolt hole, so i tightened them back up. i suppose it is possible there is some sort of leak pooling in there?... just one more problem to deal with.
