I really don't think I need a more positive shift or any of that. I just want a shorter shift. I've missed the famous 2-3 shift I think 2x in the whole time I've had my car. Plus, at the moment I have a whole $2 to my name :D
OK. Could someone just give me some pointers to cutting the stock shifter then? Do I just take a cut-off wheel to it, or are there some special procedures? Anything I need to watch out for? And I did search, so.....
I did it. Not too sure exactly how much I took off (misplaced the peice when I pulled everything out of my car), but it was about 1 1/4". I think that's a good height, otherwise I'd need a shorter boot. Anyways, time for pics:

All in all, I'm glad I did it. It definitely looks ALOT better than it did before. I haven't really gotten to try it out yet, but from the short time I drove it, it felt nice. The pictures of the knobs where taken sitting ontop of the armrest, so I'm certain they're at the same angle, or very close, so you can see just how much of a difference it made.
ditch the stocker...sloppy shifts and a unsure feeling on if its in gear or not...i went to www.ws6store.com and bought the proform shifter...its the same as the b&m ripper because b&m lost the patten to the shifter....about 40 bucks less...only draw back is that u cant bolt up a short stick to it...ive had the hurst and the b&m but by far my fav is the proform/B&M..
Are you still happy with the ProForm? At Northern's price, it seems the best for me, since I do not care for a shorter shifter. I want firness and speed and short throw.
