  • clinking and clanking noise?

I just bought a 96 camaro, The trannys being dancing in and out of OD at freeway speeds 50 to 75 MPH. Someone told me the TCC valve goes bad alot. The other day I heard a rattling from under the car like a loose heat shield or something. turns out the clinking and clanking is coming from the torque converter housing. Does this sound like a bad converter? Would a bad TCC valve cause this? Do I have to replace the whole Tranny? Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like the bolts holding the TC to the flexplate are just loose check that first.

Cracked flex plates also make clanking and banging sounds.
