I bought an aluminum driveshaft and while I had both of them, I weighed them to see exaclty how much each weighed. There has been a discussion or two about it, but here it is. They are both 1 piece DS's by the way.
Me (fully clothed with shoes), no driveshaft: 201.0 lbs

Me + 1 pc Steel DS: 220.0 lbs - Me = 19.0 lbs
(its kinda blurry, but it was hard to hold the camera steady with the DS in my ohter hand)

Me + Aluminum DS: 212.5 lbs - Me = 11.5 lbs

Conclusion: the aluminum is 7.5 lbs lighter than the 1 pc steel one.
I weighed everything (even myself) 3 times each.
Just FYI for anyone who didnt know or was curious to know.
Note* The stock 2 pc steel DS is about 33 lbs. I was comparing a 1 pc steel to a 1 pc aluminum.
