  • Getting LSD

Okay, so I have a post about a strange noise coming from my rear end. I looked and there is leaking fluid all over the are where the driveshaft goes into the rear end.

So, Im guessing it would be a better idea to just get an LSD off a z28 and get rid of that one? Will I notice any difference in acceleration? Because I'm not sure what gear ratios the base camaros came with stock.

Also, would a junk yard be my best bet? Or online somewhere? Another concern is the fact that I have rear drum brakes. Will the new disc on the LSD bolt right up? Is this a big job and will a shop charge me out the ***?

if it's leaking fluid, the problem is the seals, not the carrier

So swapping the whole rear end wouldnt fix the problem?

well, it'll fix the problem, but it'll fix the problem like swapping motors will fix a ticking noise. Oh, and alot of your questions about Z28 rear's and gear ratios can be answered in the FAQ and/or with a 2-minute search

Oh ic. I figured it might just be a better idea to get an LSD for performance reasons. But I couldnt really find a complete answer on the whole drum to disk brakes thing. And if it would all bolt up correctly.
