  • About to buy this driveshaft...

Does this have all the correct linkages, etc. in order to put on my 99 3.8L M5? Just double-checking before I actually buy it.

    Thanks
    John

yea, everything looks in order...you may have to take the bearings off your old driveshaft and switch them over onto the alum. DS

The install is basically just lift the rear of the car, disconnect u-joints at the differential, disconnect at the two-piece DS joint, and it just pulls out the back of the tranny, push the new one back into the tranny, and connect the u-joints back at the differential. Right? Where are the bearings located that you're talking about SmokePanther...? BTW, I'm the guy who was in the blue V6 Camaro at Richmond Dragway that night.

            yup, simple as that

they're on the end the u-joints are at. You may not have to...I know when I put my alum. in, I had to transfer one from my 2-pc. over onto the new one.

ah, a guy I ran into on a good night...I ran again on 5/25 and got some garbage times.

The night I saw you up there at Richmond was an amazing night for drag. It was like 55* that night or something wasn't it? In any case, I think the air quality was pretty decent. I'm upset I didn't get to see your car run, but I heard it idling and I was very jealous. I also remember you saying that when you change to the alum. DS, you can kinda feel it a little bit. My dad said he didn't think it'd make that much of a difference, but I'm definitely considering buying this driveshaft. I'm gonna get it for around $110 shipped, so i think it's a decent deal. Thanks for the help, hope to see you out at Richmond again soon.

yea, the gains are more what you would see on a timeslip, versus feel by the seat of your pants...but yea, I'll be in the area
