i recently swapped the rear out of my 94 3.4 M5 from 3.23's to 3.73's, i know this is a beaten topic but i was reading about the jet modules for the 3.4, will this unit allow for speedo calibration for gear changes or just performance tuning, Funkz was talking about it in a previous post but jets website dosent mention anything about speedo recalibration, thanx for the help in advance

You can buy a JETSCU2000 from Jeg's for $140. It lets you calibrate your speedo and it also "supposedly" removes the top speed limiter.
Here's the link to it:

I honestly don't think there is anything for the 3.4L, I just let it go on my 3.4L.
most 3.4Ls aren't worth anything anyways, so not wort the effort to have the wrong mileage shown, and after awhile you get a feel where the speedo is.

Re: gear change on 3.4, speedo recalibration options?
yea it looks cool but i dont think 80 bucks is worth it to have the speedo read right, the car has 207,000 on it so i dont give a **** about the mileage i just like the idea of having the speedo correct thats all, any body else have any suggestions or is that my best option...

Re: gear change on 3.4, speedo recalibration options?
I remember there's a mathematical formula to figure out your actual speed with corresponding RPM. So, just do that and remember it in your mind. I don't think spending any EXTRA money on a 3.4 w/207,000 miles is a good idea.

Re: gear change on 3.4, speedo recalibration options?
just cause the car has 200k on it dosent mean its a lost cause, i plan on rebuilding the motor and replacing the tranny since they are the only two pieces of the car that havent been replaced besides the body, everything else is new or been rebuilt, when you get a car for 100 bucks spending a grand or two on it isnt bad, yea i was looking at fastchips but im planning on going to megasquirt so im not gonna waste money on having the speedlimiter removed and speedo recaled for 300 bucks, i guess im just gonna live with it for now

Re: gear change on 3.4, speedo recalibration options?
Or if you jsut want "a feel" for where the speedo is, have someone with an accurate speedometer going 70 (or anything around that, jsut so that you know what they're going) and talk to em on the phone. When tehy say they're at 70mph, see what your speedo is at. then just divided your speed by theirs. For every 1 true mph, your's will show X amount off.
Like mine. I was following someone doing 65. Mine said 75, so i just divided 75/65 and got 1.15 or so. So for every 1mph, my speedo shows 1.15
Seems logical to me. But then again, i think illogically at times
