is it even possible to put the 4l60e from my v6 onto a sbc 350 without using an adaptor plate? i know the ls1s use a 4l60e, but is it the same thing?

Re: v6 tranny on a v8?
The 4L60e that is mated to the V8 has a different bell housing (all 4L60e housings are bolt on for different applications) and uses a different torque converter because the tranny input shaft is for larger.
I don't think you would want to (or even could) bolt up a 4L60e from a V6 up to any V8 (SBC, BBC, LSX, etc..) without converting those 3 things mentioned above.
I guess the real question is can you find a bell housing that will allow the 4L60e to be bolted up to the SBC. I don't know if the LT1 or LS1 bellhousing is compatable with a SBC.Now Playing: \'99 Pewter Firebird, stock, bone stock, and nothing but stock, so help me God!
Comming attractions: K&N Filter, Lid Mod, Intake Bellows Smooth Pipe Mod.
I dream about: Forced Induction (TC or SC) or NOX (or both!)
