There are not many 4th gen Fbodies in our local junkyards but there are a ton of 3rd gens. I was wondering which 3rd gens came with aluminum driveshafts? If there are no specific 3rd gens that have aluminum driveshafts then can someone tell me a good way to tell a steel driveshaft from an aluminum driveshaft without removing it from the car and feeling the weight?

im pretty sure no 3rd gens came from the factory with alum driveshafts

1LE option came out in 1989 and those have aluminum driveshafts and I've seen several trans am GTA's with an aluminum

it seems i don't recall correctly then :p. There ya go, it still might be easier to just get a driveshaft off a z28 board, unless you have a cornucopia of 3rd gens around you.Originally posted by IDoVoodooComment
