  • Clutch Intall Problem

So I bought a Centerforce Dual Friction clutch. We ripped everything apart, installed the new cluth and attempted to put the trany back in. It's a '98 v6 by the way. We can get the tranny in, so that the sleen is just under an inch threaded. The pilot bearing was actually starting to go in. However we can't freakin get it the rest of the way in. We took the clutch out, and it slid right in. Then we checked to make sure the cluth and pressure pate fits on the tranny when it was down, and it does perfectly. We can't figure out what the heck's the problem. You guys have any advice?

It should fit but it is a little pain in the *** to get all the way in. It took me and my dad about 20 min. of non stop wiggling to get the final inch in all the way.

we did it by having one person pulling at the bellhousing and one adjusting the tail of the trans. a trans jack helps too.

make sure the trans is in gear and when you try to slide it in turn the output shaft to line the splines in the front up and it will drop right in just takes some practice I'm on my 4th trans now so Ive done this a few times it get easier the more you do it.
