ok, so i got a new problem with my car. started happening on my way out to Idaho almost two weeks ago. well what happens is sometimes when i press down the clutch, and go to put it into a different gear, before i let off the cluth theres a funny grinding noise. it doesnt happen until i shift, and only with the clutch depressed. i want to say its the clutch, but a friend of mine believes its the transmission, only because i already had transmission problems which never got worse, just never got better either. so any ideas are appreciated, and thats the best i can explain it. have any questions ask away...

Replace the clutch master first. It is the cheapest. I had a new clutch put in only to have the same problem (grinding) until I replaced the master.
The master may not be providing the pressure to completely disengage quickly (it's slow). Try this - wait a couple of seconds before you shift gears, time for the slave to completely disengage. If the problem goes away as mine did, it is either the master or slave. Cheapest is to replace the master. To replace the slave you have to pull the trans, and at that point we might as replace EVERYTHING.Robert - owner www.FirebirdV6.com/CamaroV6.com

Re: clutch or transmission?
to be honest, yeah clutch fluid is dirty. i just remembered that when you asked. ill check into the master cylinder. that shouldn't be too hard, and could be the possibility. the clutch only has like 65k miles on it, 45k when i bought it and i put 20k on the car since. thanks for the help, ill let yall know how it goes.
