fine you're right, he can go ahead and get 4.10s if he really wants, but do you need to get your pcm tuned? will the shift points be kinda screwed up if you go that high? cause i know depending on how much gas you're giving the car the pcm tells the trans what rpm/mph to shift at or am i wrong in thinking that too?

No your 3/4 right, after the gears have been changed in a car you SHOULD get to tuned ASAP> or buy an after market one that askes for your gears. but concidering he already has 3.42's in his car the 2 jump up will just decrease his gas and affect his speedo that much more w/o the tune. No real damaging side affects i know of.

But if your going 4.10 bud your next best purchase would be to redo all your parts such as heads, rod, n stuff. but then ur almost ready for a cam! lol :D

you're gonna have to retune the computer regardless of what gears you go to...4.56 to 2.73, if the gears change, the car's computer needs to be changed as well

Why would you need to "redo" your heads?

again, why? Stock heads have been proven to flow enough to go into the 13's NA, 12's with a power-adder.

^All of these members are running 13s or faster with stock heads on their 3.8.

EDIT: even Shirl made her 11.7 run on stock heads
