wtf spec?

  • wtf spec?

    the source of my clutch problems was my spec clutch. I have had nothing but trouble with the whole thing snse i got it. First the pilot bushing they gave me literally exploded in my car. Then the pressure plate goes bad.
    I replaced it with the oem clutch kit, and it even feels better. The pedal is 3 times lighter than with the spec (not sure if thats just because it's new)
    but i only had that spec clutch for not even 3 months.
    wtf is with spec clutches? or am i just having bad luck?

    Abbott long tubes,homemade true duals,slp ram air,whisper lid,eibach springs,kyb shocks,BMR subframe connectors, BMR LCA reloc brackets,BMR LCAs. T-top/manual converted

    sounds like it's just you. sucks!!! but glad to hear you got it fixed. the only problem i heard that people have with spec's, is the noise.

    go centerforce next time!

      I have had 3 spec clutches in my car with no issues.

      A 2, 3+, 5+ sounds like you fell into the .05% that turn out to have issues....

        yeah lucky me, but it seems like a lot of the v8 guys i have been talking to all have had problems with spec and hate them

          I have heard from some people they are good, but I have also seen a lot of *****ing about them. It's a toss up since most people won't go out of their way to mention a clutch is working properly, but you will hear from the guy who had a clutch rip appart.

            I have had a spec stage 3 for bout 3 years and love it no complaints
