3.42 gears common in all v6 camaro's?

Hey guys,
I recently relized that my camaro has 3.42 gears which seems high for a v6. V8 automatic camaro's have 3.23 gears? Is this common in ALL v6 f-bodies? My car is a 1998 camaro.

no, you are a lucky one. Do you have the LSD as well? Most guys got 3.08s if auto or 3.23 if manual for the v6s.

It was an option to get the 3.42s

3.42 gears are stock for the v-8 6-speed and v8 auto has 2.73 gears

3.08 and 3.23 are v6 gears with the option for the 3.42s

gu4 - 3.08
gu5 - 3.23
gu6 - 3.42
y87 - y87 package...

Guess I gotta clarify...

I just bought mine with 3.42 rear (GU6) and NO LSD (G80)
This sucker gets outta the hole faster than I thought even with a one legger.

V8 Autos are 2.73 and 3.23
All WS6 autos are 3.23 and its optional on all other formulas and t/a's
Manuals all got 3.42s

V6's get 3.08 and 3.42
All manuals get 3.42 and autos its optional.
