Okay, so my mechanic said that my tranny mount(s?) are busted big time. I feel like something is moving around under the shifter and my shifter is really bouncy. So I would assume hes right. But anyway, they want $105 for the mount and an hours labor to install it. That sound about right to you guys or what? Anyone have any recommendations as far as mounts? And are there more than one? Like is there a kit they are getting or are they just ordering 1 mount?

Re: Question Transmission Mounts.
20 bucks...holy ****! Where in the hell are they coming up with $105?? Also, its just 1 mount right?
So would it be best to go with the polyurethane energy suspension mount? Can someone give me a link to the best place to buy them...I cant find one for the v6 camaro. Not sure if it matters or what.Last edited by Chris2088; 10-16-2007, 03:17 PM.

Re: Question Transmission Mounts.
it's like a 15 min job, 3 bolts to take it off and put new one back on.
There is one mount it is located right under the driveshaft under your trans. 2bolts connect it to the trans and one bolt connects it to the crossmember.
put a jack under the trans to hold it in place, un do the bolt holding the transmount to the crossmember, jack the trans up a little to undo the 2 bolts holding the transmount to the trans.
replace with new mount and your done.

Re: Question Transmission Mounts.
From personal experiance, I wouldn't go with polyurethane trans mount. You will feel every vibration in the driveline. I've gone 1.5 60's on a stock trans mount, and wouldn't have it any other way!www.fullthrottlev6.com
www.chitownracing.com

Re: Question Transmission Mounts.
If you get the energy suspension mount (autozone for about 15 bucks or so) you will need to enlarge one of the holes in the crossbrace. a dremel will make pretty short work of it. with the energy suspension brace you also need to stack some sort of spacer between the mount to work out the angle of the transmission to stock height.
a 1le mount or replacement stock mount will bolt right in and should take about 30 minutes with a beer break and a bathroom break.Last edited by Loochy88; 10-17-2007, 12:56 AM.
