It was a certain year that they went from 2 piece to 1 piece, but i don't think it was precise when they switched. Something like ~98 or something. i dont' remember exactly
I dont know a great deal about the 4th gen f-body OE parts, but is there a takeoff aluminum shaft? I spent over $400 on a custom aluminum shaft for my L67 rwd cutlass since I bent the stock steel one launching hehe. When I get an f-body to do an engine swap it would be nice to know if there is a low cost alternative to getting a custom one built.

yes $100-$150 gets you a aluminum driveshaft for our cars from our v8 counterparts. I have one on my car, and a lot of other people do too
i switched from the 2 piece steel to one piece aluminum... i didn't notice anything really. you'd prlly have to take it to a track to see the improvements in numbers.
I switched from a 2 piece to a one piece and I felt double the gains I got from my cat back...it was a huge difference, thats why I said I acutally wouldnt be surprised if it does free up 19rwhp...since I'd like to think I got atleast 10 hp from the catback.
anyways There is the post I was just to lazy to go find, told you I read it on here...also I noticed alot more vibration with the 1 piece...ALOT more...cowl rattles, and you hear it vibrating at WOT...shock tower brace eliminated the cowl vibration, and Im hoping sfc will eliminate the rest

sounds like your driveshaft wasn't balanced when you installed it. Shouldn't be any more vibrations at normal speeds, over 90mph yes there will be more vibration

I dont know if its really vibration or not...you really only hear it under WOT...its changed the sound of the exhaust from in the cabin...I guess it almost sounds as if the exhaust is resonating through it, if that makes any sense ...I just kind of assumed it was vibration, and that it came with the installation of a one piece
