i have 3.08 gears and i want to put 3.42 gears in my 02 camaro people told me you dont have to run a gear spacer for that.

gear spacer? never heard of it. you will need a 3 series posi and have to pick up a reluctor ring to keep your abs i believe1997 Camaro LS1 RS

Most ring gear spacers (12 bolt, 8.5,8.2 10 bolt)come with the longer bolts you will need to keep the ring gear bolted to the carrier. The spacers do however cause backlash inconsistencies that can reduce gear life or cause the gear to break. I wouldn't use one. You are much better off buying the right series carrier or if you have a posi already you can buy the Richmond or Summit gears that are made to fit the 2 serries carrier.
