What Camaro has what gears?

I am planning on doing an entire rear end swap to make it easier since I was going to get 3.42 gears and do a disc brake swap anyway.

Now my friend who has a 94 Firebird suggested getting a rear end that has posi on it.

Now my question, what specific type of Camaro or Firebird to I have to look for in order to get a rear end with those 3 features?

a z28 or ta that is a m6 car usually has 3.42s if im not mistaken...but look for the code...i think its GU6 for 3.42's

and thats what i got forsale too...the rear in my car was out of a 97 Z28...i only had it for 7k tops and his car had 30k when we swapped it out for a 12 bolt

check the RPO CODE. GU6 = 3.42 and G80 = LSD (posi)

Yeah I guess it's semi-common on 2002's.. I guess they had alot of extra 3.42's and just used the rest of them (that's what I heard anyways) in the open diffs for the hell of it. I want LSD and 4.10's though..

So it looks like the only foolproof meathod is to check the GPO codes then.

Yeah, check the RPO codes. Looks like we need to update the tech section. I had never heard about what metallicaguitarist said. You definately don't want 3.42's and an open diffy! :)

I accidentally spin the tires when making right turns, and i'm not even hitting the gas hard.. at all.

That's why I want 4.10/LSD.. lol
