the ring on my 97 went out in the rearend
so i guess im putting 3.73s in it now
ring and pinion set with the instalation kit
i was told the price is going to be around 350
im wondering if thats going to b a good bet for me or its too much
oh, and with the ring and pinion set, does the pinion enable a limited slip so i can finally get 2 tires going? thnx:rock:
The ring and pinion itself does not do limited slip. That would be the differential, the thing the ring gear mounts on inside the differential housing.
wow lsd can e installed on any carrier. pinion has no effect. price sounds about right but adding a lsd will bring the price up a few hundred for a good one i have a stock one i will sell if your interested.
Make sure you get one for the right carrier. 2 series is 3.08 and numerically down, 3 series is 3.23 and numerically up. Sounds about right if 350 includes labor. Seems kinda high to me if its just for the gears.
If its just gears and install kit it seems a little high but if it includes install it seems to cheap to me. There is alot taht goes ito setting gears and labor is not cheap on it.
