I noticed an issue a few days ago and only realized how bad it was this morning. On my way into work I noticed my acceleration wasn't what it should be. So at the next stop I gun it. The engine revs up to 6000 RPM but the car has only gotten up to 25MPH. Also, when I am at speed and stomp the gas it doesn't want to downshift.
Now I am going to check the tranny fluid during my lunch break, but what other possibilities could be causing this issue? I pray that it is nothing major since I bought the car only 2 months ago.
I think i may have the same issue.. When i put it to the floor it goes for a little bit then the RPM's sky rocket but my car just seems to float in between gears until i let off on the gas. My 3.4l has 86k on it.
yeah that happened to mine, turns out my torque converter shredded and spit pieces of metal through my tranny and i had to get it COMPLETELY rebuilt costing me $2500

you could get a brand new OEM transmission installed for under $2500....hell i did my conversion with all new parts for under $2500..
1999 v6 Camaro M5 Automatic to Manual converted Pacesetter Headers, 2.5" Custom True Duals with X-Pipe and Magnaflow Bullet Muffers,
!cat, Intake, 3.42's with LSD, MSD Wires, Drilled/Slotted Rotors, Hurst Short Shifter, Tuned PCM
yeah but I didn't know that at the time and the shop said that they don't make out tranny anymore so I had to either rebuild it or replace it with a used one (back when I didn't know anything about cars)
If you know your going to need a transmission, Where ever you go get the price up front. Transmission shops will give you a very low price to get you in the door, then one they have the trans out, say you also need this, this and this and those weren't included in the price we gave you. Then all the sudden it's more then twice the price they gave you to get your car back. If you go to someone who is going to sell you a rebuild trans from a re builder like Jasper then the trans is already a set price. Trans shops are the biggest crooks in the industry.
