Re: 3.90 gears
How much do you like your gas mileage on the highway? The highest I'd run for the street is 3.73. I have an 87 Camaro with a 700R4 and 3.70 gears (9 bolt, not 10 bolt) and at highway speeds it runs at about 3000 rpm. Thats not high for a Honda or a Toyota, but it's up there for a cruise speed on a small block that drinks gas like a..... well no funny analogy comes to mind, but on the highway I get something to the tune of 14mpg hwy. I get better gas mileage in the city than on the highway. In retrospect I wish I'd gone with 3.45's. For a 10 bolt my 3.70 = 3.73, and 3.45 = 3.42.

Re: 3.90 gears
ok, do you think I need the performance TA covers when going with either the 3.73, 3.90, or 4.10 gears? and what does the spline numbers mean...I see some lsd or gears are 27 and some are 28...does this make a difference?
