having trouble in 1st and 2nd gear

just noticed this problem yesterday, but my car seems to have trouble going into first and second gear, it only happens sometimes, usually when i am moving at a slow speed with the clutch in trying to get it in gear

basically it only "half" engages meaning if i let the clutch out i would hear grinding, and when it does this i literally have to slam it into gear.

when i move the shifter up and down i isnt smooth, i can feel hesitations.

anyone know what the problem is? bent shift fork?

mayb a pilot bearing or a warn clutch

how would a worn clutch cause this problem?

i do know that my clutch is bad.. it slips every once in a while when shifting at low rpm's

not trying to be a jerk there either, that is a real question ;)

how many miles are on the clutch? is it stock

no idea, the car has 120k miles on it though, i got it with 90k

im gonna check my fluid levels to just make sure everything is ok, where is the drain/fill plug on the t5?

if the clutch is warn, it wont engage/disengage properly, hence the grinding gears

What they all said about clutch, also check fluid level for clutch. It sits directly beside the brake fluid resovoir closer to the fender

i just had the problem similar where it was hard to get in gear because when i tried it woild grind instead of go in smoothly and when i tore it down i found that the inserts and springs for the 1-2 hub were in the bottom of the case . not to scare you but it is the second time for me.
