Programing new gears 3.73

Guys I have a question regarding calibrating my new 3.73 gears to my 1999 V6 Camaro.

The only real question I have is speed pulses per rev at 40 or 70?

what are you using to tune the pcm for the gears? You should be able to use your tire size and gear ratios and it gives you the calcs then, at least for hptuners it does

Mine is set at 40 stock. This shouldn't change. Pulses per mile will change. Pulses per rev is how the PCM calculates trans output rpm.

Using JET DST it does have calcs but wanted to make sure it was right because it is riding hard.

how do you like that DST program? I was checking that out the other day. I am curious if it can do everything that hptuners can or not

I finally figured out tuning but there is much more I can do with programer. This is not preset like hptuner, you push limits to your programing. Only in the transmission you can change your shifting points, Fuel the same, Idle control the same and spark the same, Emission control.

HPtuners is not preset, YOU decide what you want just about anything in the PCM set at. There are help files to guide you as well as a forum to ask the guys that make HPtuners and the guys with more experience with it questions.

HP tuners is not preset, probably the furthest thing from it.
