  • Rear End "Wiggle"

haha, i know what ur thinkin, and no...that's not it. Lately ridin round in the ole' Maro, i've noticed that somethin feels kinda loose. I dont mean gears slipping or grinding, i mean like it feels like the actual entire rear axle is wiggling a slight bit. I get it sometimes when i go round a corner. It feels as if it's shifting (as in moving), and causes the rear end to feel squirrely, as if i was flooring it out of the turn, but it's not the ordinary feeling you get when u turn the car sideways, it's a wierd "roll" feeling, and makes me think the back of the car is trying to swing right off of the rear axle, only it's as if it's actually budging a little. It's an odd feel. And today i was leaving a choral event at school, and somethin different happened. it didnt just feel like it was trying to ditch the axle, i was goin round the turn, giving it no gas and the back of the car starts wiggling side to side, pretty fast, i get this wierd feeling that something's loose, and is lettin somethin holdin the axle flex or move ALOT more than it should...anyone got any idea what the problem could be? I'm startin to worry somethin's gonna fail on the highway :help:

Edit: forgot to mention also that it happens very seldomly during straight cruising. i might hit a bump or somethin, and the rear end gets reallllly squirrely and it feels like the rears just gonna swing off and send me off the road, but it does it when im not goin nearly fast enough to lose control over a bump on a dry road...

I would suggest you crawl under the back of your car and start checking for worn out bushings or missing bolts.

Might be something as simple as tire pressures. Checked all four corners lately?

sway bar bushings possibly. My front felt like that when I didn't tighten them enough.

Check your lug nuts, then look at panhard bar

check panhard rod. I snapped the factory bolt after a track day. But I could swing the body of the car real far left and right over the rear axle.

Probably made a real loud slamming sound when you cornered? Pumpkin hitting the body.....
