  • Eaton and Auburn LSD

Ok, 98 Camaro 3.08 gears. I came across the LSD's on FTPP.net below and I really have no idea what the differences are or if one is considered better than another. I'm gonna stick with the lower gears for my turbo setup to see how it does. So what the heck is even applicable and better for my pretty much stock rear end?

GM put the Auburn's in the F bodies when they started making some power with the LT1. They use Eaton's in the 3rd gen cars.

Isn't is odd how some folks say Aurbun, then some say Eaton? I still need to do my 3.42's and LSD and am completely confused as to what to get myself.

just look at hte design and you will see the difference
auburn is just open diff with 5 springs and clutch(which is getting worn over time)

Everyone should keep debating.. And bring facts! I'll make a decision then.

I like the zexel cause its clutchless...clutch packs you have to replace every 40k and if you race and beat it apparently less...the zexel is a series of worm gears that climb on each other...never needs replacing unless your putting like 500lb of torque to it...I had a good article comparing all 3 I'll see if I can find it.

That right up is one persons opinion and doesn't compare the Eaton and Auburn to each other only to the Zexel and locker.
