You should be able to do it, if you feel uncomfortable about it then find a friend that might be able to help you out. I'm guessing the price is around 30 or 40 dollars...**someone respond to correct me for I've never purchased one for my car***

I sometimes here a sound that could be what hes describing.
Usually about 30 seconds or so after I start my car. Its not very loud, and I don't worry too much. Sometimes I wonder if its the exhaust moving as it warms up. Not sure I'd call it creaking or thumping. Kind of a metallic gggvvvvuhggggvvvvuhggvvuh.
yeh. so much for onomatopoeia. but it usually only lasts maybe a couple seconds and then it smooths out. Definitely sounds like its coming from behind me. This is my first manual too.

oh, so it is a continued sound?

im betting on its the exhaust rattling against the driveshaft tunnel brace
