    so the slave craped on me

    So ive been having problems with the slave lately with getting air in the line. finally got it looked at and the slave was crap it started leakin like very recent. So that gota get replaced. He checked The clutch while he was there and said is was almost complealy gone. he said he's suprised it wasnt slipping. i've never noticed it slipping at all. kinda wierd. but he said hes gona leave it out for me to look at. Its gona cost me about $1200 max to get it all done.
    $345 slave. seals, throwout bearing/ from Gm
    $450 for the clutch
    plus labour
    resurfacing flywheel maybe $100
    Redue my leakin pinion seal, and maybe some sleave thingy for by the yoke. fluids

    you can get a slave from bendix for like $90

      OMG!! he is ripping you off
      you could get a brand new flywheel for 70 bucks
      a new clutch cost mayb 200 bucks
      and a slave cost about 100 bucks with the throwout bearing
      run away for this guy

          List price for a new slave/throwout bearing from GM is $187.29 (US$, I see you're in Canada). I'm not sure what the exchange rate is but I'm sure the US dollar isn't doing THAT good...

            i think his prices included the labour. i know all that stuff is way cheaper . idono.
            what would you guys pay for a shop to do it. i would but i dont have the proper resourses.

              A shop...you're going to pay full retail on EVERY part you get. PLUS the going labor rate is around $70 per hour and they usually charge a base of three hours on anything that involves pulling the trans. Your mechanic makes money off of the parts too, just like the rest of them.

                I've paid to have my clutch changed 3 times and the price ranged from 750 to 1000 and the the 1000 was having AAMCO do it which has to be one of the most expensive places to go. That dude is ripping you off.

                  buy all the stuff yourself at a autozone or something, then take it to him and see how much just labor is, that way he cant mark up the price on parts
