  • Aligning the clutch...

Alright...getting ready to finish up my T5 conversion and put the clutch and tranny in and whoops. I don't have a clutch alignment tool. Anyone know where I can pick one of these up? I know if I get a clutch kit it will have one, but the clutch I have isn't bad yet, and I don't wanna throw a spec clutch in there just yet.. So anyone know where I can buy one?

no they don't stock them but can order them next day for most vehicles.

Yeah, check local parts stores. If all else fails you can get a "universal" one that doesn't have any splines and is just cone-shaped. They're not the best but they work.

So. I checked Advance, and they won't sell me one, unless I buy a clutch kit with it. Bull ****. Called NAPA, and they'll have one for me in less than an hour. what's up with that?

                  Re: Aligning the clutch...

As far as parts stores go, NAPA is usally the best place to get misc tools. Advance or Autozone might actually carry them, but their employees are usually pretty stupid.

Around here, the employees at NAPA generally have a much better idea of what a vehicle is than the employees anywhere else.
