Put it in first before going to reverse.

yup, reverse doesnt have syncros, thats why it grinds, put it in a forward gear before going in reverse, or wait a few seconds after pressing the clutch in

So get it moving foward and then reverse without stopping wil stop that clunk noise?

Also I know my car is 10 years old but if ur outside the car u can hear it shift I thought it suppose to be quiet its no big deal was just wondering why

No. before putting it in reverse, put it in 1st and Don't let the clutch out when going from 1st to reverse. If you still have a noise doing it that way, check your U joints.

no its not grinding it just makes a noise like when it locks into the gear it sounds like a clunk

all of this while your clutch is still pressed down?

i wouldnt worry about it, but if it does it when you let your clutch out, i would take a look at the u joints

It happens with the clutch down I figured its prob because all the parts are 10 years old but I don't know if that's a common thing
Was just wondering it doesn't effect driving but I was just wondering
