like the title implies, i am wondering what i need.
when i start off my car usually kinda lurches (i dont really know how to describe it) and i was wondering if i need to replace the whole clutch or just the clutch disc? it'd be great if i could just get away with the disc. (it's only 50ish, and the whole clutch would be 350ish) help!
when you replace a clutch you usually replace the whole thing, and then either resurface the flywheel or get a new one.
and what clutch are you getting that is 350?
the disc is serperate from the pressure plate and can be replaced if you are just going with a stock replacement they can be had for 100 bucks and if you only put a disc in it you will be back to where you are at in a matter of weeks as the worn flywheel will wear the new disc out extremely fast

so if i replace the clutch i gotta replace the flywheel too? i was pricing the clutches at advance and thats what they had. how much is a flywheel?
you dont have to get a new flywheel, but you should at least have it resurfaced
your looking at $40 to get it resurfaced, and about $100 for a new flywheel
personally i would get a clutch kit, depending on your mileage, your TO bearing is mostlikely shot, and your pressure plate "fingers" are probably worn down
k. guess i shouldn't half *** it. whats a good clutch? brand, price, where to get it? i really only want a stock clutch. if i can get a performance clutch for a decent price i might do it.
