to those who have ditched the hydraulic trans mount...

yesterday i replaced that damn $80 oil filled hydraulic trans mount for the last time. it was replaced with your basic energy suspension polyurethane mount. a very simple swap as all that was needed was a different hole in the crossmember (having a lift and all the air tools one can imagine helps a lot) and a 1/2" spacer mentioned in the other threads.

fast forward to today. theres a god awful noise coming from underneath. it seems like the driveshaft is binding. once i get up to speed it goes away, but that noise (and feel really) kinda worries me. i can understand there was a reason why they put a dampener type mount as there are vibrations and such involved with the drivetrain but this is a bit much.

basically what it boils down to is... of you guys who changed your mount over to any type of non dampener type, do you notice any kind of funky noise or vibrations? im wondering if i maybe did something wrong in there because things are just not right. its an easy fix whatever it is but im hoping im just overacting.

any help or info is appreciated at this point.

im pretty sure you need to shim the mount because it isnt the same size as stock

your transmission is at a different position now, which could be causing your problems

only thing there is the fact that the energy suspension mount plus the 1/2" spacer equals the same height of the stock mount within 1/8".

im just wondering if the firmer mount is causing harmonic vibrations to be transmitted throughout the driveline...

yeah, I had vibrations after installing mine. No noises though. It only lasted a few days.
