  • B&M vs TransGo

I'm wanting to put a shift kit in my transmission, and I was wondering what the difference between the B&M and Transgo kits are? B&M has two different kits one is 39.95 and the other is 75.95, but the TransGo is 129.69. Is it really worth the difference?

Well there are other transgo kits available deciding on what you want to do and cheaper than the 126 one you mentioned. As far as I can tell between the kits they look the same. I have been doing allot of research trying to find a walk through on the installs that is easier to understand than the ones included with the transgo. The write ups I did find were of the B&M and they look identical from the pics included.

Transgo FTW, use only one spacer. And if you have Hptuners leave the line pressure the same. Also Corvette Servo would go well with it, you can get those for under $20 on ebay. Also they sell the transgo shift kit on ebay to for like $87 I think plus shipping. I know I got the Transgo(blue box, which is a complete kit) and Vette servo for like $115shipped off of ebay.

I was lost too on that one, but from the info I got it is basicly a bunch of ring bands that replace the old ones on the side of the tranny. Makes the 1st and 2nd gear shift harder so their is no lag in shifts(suppose to make the clutch discs inside the tranny last longer since theirs no hesitation in the shift. Thats what I make of it ) the Transgo ups the line pressure and makes 3rd and 4th gear do the same. I have both on mine with one spacer for the transgo and it def. does not have in lag in shifts. Driving normal it is fine smooth shifts, but when you floor it , it is jerking you back like you were driving a stick shift. Both of them when set up properly is suppose to make the tranny last longer. Look on ebay for the Servo and the transgo 460LE they will have the best prices.

I didn't install mine when I swapped from the M5 to A4 I had a guy who worked on trannys do the transgo and Vette Servo before it was installed, but it is on the side of the tranny, search for some install guides on Corvette Servo's for 4L60E's.

I think all you have to do is jack up the car and get under there and it is accessible from the passenger side.

I used to have a link to a servo change writeup, but correct me if i'm wrong, but this is what you will have to access:

If you have no idea what it is, or its purpose, look at this video, it will help you understand what you are dealing with:

The corvette servo is the small tube looking body sticking up behind the round cover he has circled if you thinking about doing that. The other kits can be done just by dropping the valve body out of the tranny.

Has anyone ever put a manual valve body in or those stick type kits? AKA you have to shift manually but you don't have the clutch etc?
