So I bought a 2000 3.8 from someone who I thought was a friend two days ago. It had 131k on it and drove great for a 100 miles. Then the tranny locked up. Repair shop says its "something in the tranny". Now I only paid $1500 for this car and I got a great deal. It was in near mint condition. What should I do. Its a manul T5 tranny and the repair shop (which is located right next to a tranny shop) said the tranny shop will charge $500 just to take it down and tell me exactly whats wrong.
What should I do guys? Is it worth it to pay the $1400 I was quoted for a used tranny install or should I just sell it for scrap and get my money back?
