energy suspension trans mount woes

so i kinda wasted the better part of the day trying to install the es trans mount.

long story short, while i knew i would have to slot the member towards the front, it didnt line up left and right. it was between two of the mounting holes.

i just said **** it and put the stock one back on, it wasnt in that bad of shape.

i guess i was just relaying what happened.

wondering if anyone else mightve run into the same thing.

or any reasons why it would be off in that direction.

i didnt have any problems putting mine in. took about 30 minutes. glad it went in so well because mine stocker was torn in half

So if you slotted it and moved it forward, and it then it still didn't line up left and right... so why not just modify that slot a bit? Guess I don't understand the problem. Mine seemed pretty easy to get right.

i didnt want to slot it left and right.

i figure it shouldnt have to be, and the last thing i wanted to do is end up forcing my driveline to be not straight.

then bolt it to the transmission first, bolt the xmember back on then lower the trans with the mount into the slots

you arent going to move your driveline.. especially with just a mount, there are 6 or so bolts holding the trans to the engine, and there should be dowel pins lining it up also.. not to mention after all of that, your engine mounts are keeping the engine straight

The only thing you'll mess up allignment wise is the drive shaft angle. If you don't put spacers in with the poly trans mount it will be off 1/2" or so. I used rubber bushings as spacers and it worked outstanding, I-GORA did a write up of doing it. Great right up I might add.

i was using iGora's writeup.

i mean no ones ever mentioned having to slot it in that direction. it wasnt off by just a little bit either, it was right between. stock one lined up fine when i went to put it back in.

It's actually referred to as pinion angle, and If I may add, our cars pinion angle isn't worth sh*t anyway as its already about 2 degrees up.

the only reason a spacer is needed is because most people don't have their driveshaft rebalanced to a 0 angle.
