  • a4 transmission install ?

to make a long story short..i bought a 97 v6 a4 camaro from a friend that needed a tranny and he already had it out and i got a box of bolts and thats a bout it...i picked up a trans from a junkyard and got it half way installed...ive replaced 4 or 5 4l60es on ls1 cars but these cars are twice the headache...

So back to my question does anybody have any pics of what bolts go where on the inspection cover? thats all i cant quite seem to figure out and im hoping i have all the bolts...any info or pics would be a great help on this thanks

Dude these trannies are EASY. I've pulled mine several times (and still have to do it once more...doh!).

Im doing some work on my car tomorrow, I'll take some pics under there. BTW, there are a few plates/shields under there that are waste and dont need to be there ;)

I think there are 5 bolts for the inspection plate that are 15mm. Dont quote me on that just yet, I'll check tomorrow.

mayb a transmission mount. If i remember correctly, they attach to the engine mounts and then to the side/bottom of the bellhousing.

no, it keeps dirt/rocks and stuff from getting into your engine

i would not recommend taking it off unless this is a dedicated track car

and IIRC it has to go on before the flywheel/flexplate
