The 00 has Multec II fuel injectors and a taller fuel rail (99 has Bosch style injectors). The easiest fix for this is to just keep the 99 fuel rail and injectors with the 00 motor. Other than that everything is the exact same.
BTW, why are you replacing the whole motor for a headgasket? Most of the time you can just fix the headgasket, run some fresh oil thru it several times and its fine.
everything should be the same except the throttle body. I believe 00 had the sensor driven throttle instead of the wire driven. so you should be able to get away with swapping the TB's

so the injectors and rails need swapped..and other then that its just the wiring harness?
i'm taking the motor from hte 99 and putting it in hte 00
and yes, i'm replacing the motor and trans in the 00 for a head gasket and badly slipping transmission
imo its easier then tearing down the v6 and doing a head gasket...plus i already have the motor and trans laying here that i know for a fact are in great shape bc it was my wife's daily driver and i maintained it meticulously for that very reason
thanks huge for the response
Edit: the 99 has the drive by wire system as well..so i'm pretty sure the throttle body should be the same..if i'm wrong hopefully someone slaps me :)

98 was the last year of the angled TB with cables, 99+ had straight TB's that were electric. He will not have to swap the TB's.
