Well, got the posi carrier put in the axle housing with my original ring and pinion ('96 Bird) and after they put the friction modifier in, no noises. The one thing (since there's been no rain yet) that I can tell is that she feels like she absolutely means to go straight (if that makes any sense) and holds the curves like she's on rails. Anyone on the fence about this mod should go ahead and do it. All in all, there's a MUCH more solid "road feel". Pricey to get the pros to do it (and warranty it), but the end result was more than what I expected.

What gears did you go with? What posi,Torsen? I have had a Torsen diff. with 3.42's which were great for about 5-6 years. Last year went with a new Torsen I had lying around with 3.73 GM Motive gears which I think are a great city and highway gear, I think I like them the best. I started out with open 3.23's for about 4-5 years.

Unfortunately, I probably have the bottom line model, but I have the 3.08s I believe it's the torsen carrier, sized up to a 3.08. Honestly, I just wanted to get both tires for the snow (which last year was humungous). I run the 3.73s in the racecar ('79 Camaro). That has the auburn carrier in it. Although, I would imagine that 3.73s with a fourth gear wouldn't be as "ran out" as with a turbo 350 trans (only 3 gears). She seems to be getting the same, if not a little better gas milage as with the open carrier, but she is VERY sure-footed, which I have to admit, I love. I wish I didn't have to use her to commute, but I'll appreciate a slower start on the ice. God, how I wish I lived in a constant summer climate.
