  • The stickey clutch

This week my Camaro seemed to start with its latest and greatest problem. On my way to work and my clutch seemed to be releasing slowly. So at first I just played it off, but after after work it seemed to be doing the same thing. It just seems to take a second to fully enguage in between shifts. From what I observed so far, it is only doing it during moderate to hard accelaration (when I am driving nice it releases just fine) and it does not happen everytime but it does happen enough to concern me. I am thinking it's time for a new clutch? Any ideas/suggestions? If it is the clutch I will probably try and replace it my self so if you have any good tips/tricks/procedures, feel free to share. Thank you for taking the time to read and advise.

hmm may be a slave cylinder..

and i literally just finished my clutch...its gonna take you some time..its do-able...

just make sure you have friends with you to help if you do change it..:)

but if its the slave cylinder..you would have to take off your tranny anyway..so you could do the clutch then

is your clutch slipping while this is happening?

the slave cylinders are designed to engage the clutch slower than your foot does

It is not slipping, just releasing slow (watching the tach and listening) it takes a second or so for the rpms to drop, the response is not immediate as it usually was. The car does have some chatter to it also, sounds like a rattling noise at midrange rpms, I always thought it was just a heat shield. But I saw in another post it could be clutch noise, like the throughout bearing?

clutch chatter is when your whole car shakes, i dont think this is happening
