I got everything all back together and it looked great...

i started it up and it first sounded like an exhaust leak..

i checked the manifold-to-cat. and i adjusted it and it has a good seal going for it.

when i took it for a test drive, it was chattering pretty loud..this happens when i push in the clutch..

    and solutions?

Throw-out bearing?? By "chattering" are you referring to a noise like a tapping or knocking sound? It only does it when the pedal is pushed in? Do you feel anything in the pedal?

Does it kind of sound like a rattling noise by chance? My car is doing the same thing, I always thought it was a heatshield somewhere. Maybe go thru again and make sure that you have tightened everything?

I'm still leaning towards a throwout bearing. Is it new?

              Re: Clutch chatter

I know a lot of race clutches chatter badly. My Centerforce did it loudly in Neutral, even when brad new. Its the nature of the beast in high performance clutch disc.

sounds like the TO bearing making noise

is it hard to get it into gear? jack the back end of your car up and put it in gear with the clutch pressed in, do your tires move AT ALL?

can you "feel" the noise in your shifter?

again, what kind of clutch is this?

                  Re: Clutch chatter

ok i drove it a bit more, it kinda changed (the sound, that is)...now it makes the sound when i accelerate and when shifting when moving....

the whole slave cylinder and bearing are brand new
(i basically installed a totally new clutch system : flywheel, clutch plate, pressure plate, throwout bearing, and slave cylinder)

the clutch is a Brute Power....its a company off of Zoom...this clutch should be stock...

also i can kind of hear it when in neutral...but a TINY TINY bit

again, i feel nothing in the pedal or shifter..i can only hear the sound..

i mean i can deal with the sound....but is it bad?:( lol

well it shouldnt be making a noise other than when you have the clutch pressed down

i would try to bleed it more, maybe try using a mityvac

other than that, it may just be a bit noisy

bad TO bearing, or slave cylinder isnt putting enough pressure on the pressure plate.. or just a normal noise

with my new clutch, it makes a pretty loud noise also.. but im having other problems, which i hope to fix with bleeding
