v6 tranny to v8 engine

I've got something seriously wrong with my 3.8, and I can get a reman lt1 for the same price as a reman 3800. I'm fairly sure my tranny won't bolt up, so can I get a new bellhousing that will work, or will I need to buy the transmission too?

(I tried searching, but I kept getting a fatal error back and it wouldn't show any results.)

You will need to get a trans for a V8 as well cuz the bell housings are different as well as the input shafts.

That sucks, cause there goes the money I'd be saving getting the v8. That, and none of the auto stores I called had any of the tranny's in stock, nor could they give me a price on one. Where can I get them, and what do they run?

price varies on if youre gunna get an auto or manual. Just look for used ones on craigslist or junkyards would prolly be your best bet.

if you dont mind me asking, where were you planning on getting a reman lt1 from? and how much were they gunna charge?

I want the m6, and advance auto wants $1900 for a reman with a 3 yr warranty. Haven't had much luck finding a tranny, and the price seems decent from what I've seen.
