the first thing to check would be check your oil, see if its milky, that would tell you if its a bad head-gasket. but that isnt sure fire way, so dont rule that out if it isnt milky
pull your tranny dip stick and see if metallica is playin some tunes down in there.
and good grief, give that poor ole thing a break, its a V6, not a performance machine!
what i do is instead of seeing how fast i can leave a readlight, i see how long i can drive without my car going over 2000 rpms, it can be done!

well needles to say, after getting a ticket for 73 in a 30, i wont be doing that anymore.... but your right, ill check that out tonight. is it really rare that a torque converter to go bad? it has 130k miles on it, i dont know alot about it so im not sure if it can even go bad...
2000 Firebird- Intake, Pacesetters, !cat, full 2.5 to flowcrapster, 1.9 rockers, LS6 springs and Intense modded retainers, WS6 speedlines, T/A bumpers and hatch, 5 spd swapped, SOON TO BE nitrous'd and cammed.
the clutches in the tranny will go out before the converter will...if im not mistaken.

sounds like you were abuseing the **** out of it man....you could have a couple of problems with it...transmissions are hard to diagnose...expensive to fix...
sounds like you may possibly have more then a trans problem though...
learn to drive like a responsible, normal person and you might just save yourself some money...
I mean 73 in a 30?...you get your car towed and licence suspended for that over here man...you need to seriously grow up...there are other people on the road that you put at risk driving like that, and it makes us F-body owners look bad when people like you do stupid **** like that... your a huge reason why our damn insurance rates are so flippin high
yeah, ive had a few brake stands before... well this one should last me alot because i dont drive like a crazy fool anymore
LETZRIDE, you are completely right and looking back on it, i was an f-ing idiot and every time i think about it i regret doing it. im paying for it in more ways than one right now and that was one reason why i slowed down and re-taught myself how to drive like any sane person would. Im not saying that ill never speed again, cause hey, with an f-body its damn hard not to but never EVER to that or even close to that again. i threw out my radar detector and learned my lesson so i understand the harsh words but i got my learning once, and i dont need another lesson. i appreciate your concern though
Hey guys. For starters I’ve always been a big car guy, I love all types of cars and can appreciate all types of engineering. I’ve always been a Chevy...
